About the book:
Sometimes you want to die, but it’s not meant to be. Vincent became a vampire in 1847. He fights to keep humans safe from rogue vampires, but can never find love. One thing makes him go on and not find a way to die. The Soul Mate Tree saved his life with its shade and showed him a woman in the future who would need his help and show him love. He could be more than the bloodsucker he had become.
In 2015, Adele is a vampire hunter by night and a photographer by day. She has never allowed love into her life as it would only complicate things. Then she meets Vincent, and the attraction is instant.
Vincent must try and convince Adele to love him while they both fight off rogue vampires.
How will she cope when she realizes the man she has fallen in love with, is what she has been trained to kill?

About Maggie:
I live in Adelaide, Australia with my husband, one cat, two dogs and a snake. I have a motorbike that I would like to ride more than I do and I love walking at the beach and listening to the waves.  I've always loved reading all forms of fiction from high fantasy and paranormal to contemporary and decided the stories in my head needed to be written down. It was either that or start on medication. Unlike many, I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer until a few years back.  I started off doing a degree in drama but soon realized my love was in writing, though there is a play lurking somewhere on my computer. My day job is as a nurse in the operating room. I believe romance can be fun to read and write, but it’s exciting to spice it up with the uncertainty that comes with suspense where the rules can be broken

Weekend Reads ~ Druid's Portal - The First Journey

It's all about the pitch ~ A portal closed for 2,000 years. A love that crosses the centuries.

A Few Words From Cindy:

Romance books are a genre I turn to when I need a gentle read, perhaps be swept away from the modern day, far from interruptions by phone and social media. With a happy ending, and dramas that are resolved by the end of the book, romance novels can be a small window of delight in what can be a grim world. Today I would like to introduce readers to a couple of my favourites, ones they may not have seen, but certainly worth looking up.

Sanditon by Jane Austen and Another Lady.

Jane Austen was writing this when she passed away far too young, and for many years the book ended at chapter 11. Finally it was taken up and completed anonymously, and I believe they did a great job. The action is set in the small coastal town of Sanditon, with a practical and likeable heroine, and a dashing hero, and a handsome yet ridiculous villain. The humour is gentle, and there is a good bit of action at the end. For anyone that enjoys Austen, this is a great read.

Thornyhold by Mary Steward.

Mary Steward is probably best known for her mysteries and the fantasy King Arthur series. However, Thornyhold is a wonderful standalone novel that can be read over and over for the sheer enjoyment of the descriptions. The heroine inherits her herbalist aunts’ cottage, so there are some lovely passages about gardens, plants, pets and an old English house. There is a touch of fantasy with a magical element and witchcraft, but it has a happy ending, and all loose ends are firmly tied by the end. The sort of book you would be very happy reading in front of a fire on a wet winters day.

Book Blurb:

-->
A portal closed for 2,000 years.

An ancient religion twisted by modern greed.
A love that crosses the centuries.
An ancient druid pendant shows archaeologist Janet visions of Roman soldier Trajan. The visions are of danger, death, and love – but are they a promise or a curse?
Her fiancé Daman hurts and abandons her before the wedding, her beloved museum is ransacked, and a robed man vanishes before her eyes. Haunted by visions of a time she knows long gone, Janet teeters on the edge of a breakdown.
In the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall and 2,000 years back in time, Janet’s past and present collide. Daman has vowed to drive the invaders from the shores of Britain, and march his barbarian hordes to Rome. Trajan swears vengeance against the man who threatens both his loves - Janet and the Empire.
Time is running out - for everyone.

It's All About The Pitch ~

They’re circling each other, trying to meet in the middle until a new threat sends them in a different direction.

About The Book:
Odd things keep happening to Dr. Sara Newton. She’s a soon-to-be-unemployed pediatrician with an alleged stalker, a hot cop on her heels breathing dire warnings, and way too much student debt.

It doesn’t help that the hot cop is Clay Morrison, her best friend’s older brother. The man has made her heart pound and her palms sweaty since puberty. The trouble is, he only interacts with her when he’s expounding on new security measures. He sees threats everywhere.

Clay Morrison is frustrated. He hates his new job, misses his Army Ranger days, loves his well-meaning, pushy family—and when did sweet Sara Newton grow up? She won't admit she has a stalker, and she won't keep out of his thoughts. He can only protect someone in denial for so long. No matter how attractive she is...

Clay and Sara are circling each other, trying to meet in the middle. Then a brand new threat sends them in a completely different direction.
